Hey fellas. Some of you may have read my posts about this in other forums in the past, but I wanted to bring this up here. I use a CAE Unity Gain Buffer in my guitar. It's basically a small preamp (circuit board) that is powered off of a battery and is inserted just before the output jack on my guitar. The battery lasts about 3 weeks with heavy playing (3 hours a day) as long as you unplug your guitar when you are not using it.
What this thing does is phenomenal! It keeps your signal strong through all of your effects and makes your rig sound better than ever! I noticed a big difference in high-end and overall dynamic restoration when I had this thing installed. And, it's under $50! This thing is the trick to using long chords or a bunch of True bypass pedals.
Garcia used this thing in some of his guitars, Tiger for sure. Anybody interested in guitar wiring should check out how he had his techs wire his guitars. Effects loops, Unity Gain Buffers, and everything!
The website is www.caesound.com . Here's a picture of the CB1 Unity Gain Buffer:
