Burriss Boostier: A poor man’s Klon?

Burriss Boostier
I’ve had the pleasure of owning Burriss Amp’s flagship pedal: the Boostier. Most likely, this pedal was designed to push the front end of Burriss’ boutique guitar amplifiers, however this pedal can be used with any amp. What’s unique about this boost pedal is that it offers both input and and output gain controls, as well as a high end control which controls how much high end is included in the signal.

With just these 3 simple controls, tone-purists can get a rather transparent tone that’s either boosted, slightly distorted, dark to bright, or any combination of these qualities. However, there is a very slight tonal thickness that is part of the Boostier's personality. By turning the intput gain up on this pedal, you get a little bit of dirt on the tone (but it's still beefy). Think John Scofield tone.

I swear, this thing can really cop the sound of a 20 watt amp on the edge of breakup….and with the high end control, you can bring the tone from dark to bright.
