Teese Wah (RMC)

Teese wah pedals, officially Real McCoy Custom (RMC for short), are arguably the best wah pedals for guitar on the market. The RMC3 was the world's first fully tunable wah pedal. The Picture Wah is one of the most vocal wah wah pedals, modeled after the original Vox Clyde McCoy model. Geoffrey Teese's wahs are always true-bypass, encased in the often familiar Dunlop style housing (think Crybaby wah), and packed full of tone.

All RMC wahs now come with the fuzz-friendly circuit and only the highest quality parts (such as EMI resistant Karmaflux inductors, durable Italian true-bypass on/off switches, Geoffrey's very own RMC ROC-POT potentiometers, top of the line Switchcraft jacks, simple adjustable rocker tension, and an AC adapter jack for use with your Pedal Power 2.

Teese RMC3 Wah

The RMC3 wah was what put Geoffrey Teese on the guitar effects map. First released in the mid 1990's, the Teese RMC became the first ever tunable wah pedal. The original design had internal DIP switches (pain in the ass!) that allowed the guitarist to tune the circuit to various tonal sweeps. Guitar players were given the opportunity to customize their own wah sound. This was groundbreaking.

Nowadays, the RMC3 wah comes with a front-loaded set of controls dubbed "Vari-Tune" that solve the inconvenience of having to take the bottom plate off and adjust the internal DIP switch settings. These controls include:

• LOW - This knob adjusts the amount of low frequencies produced throughout the wah's sweep.
• MID - This knob adjusts how deep the mid-range is, helping to fine tune how vocal the wah sounds.
• Q Harmonic - This knob sets where the sweet spot lies amidst the entire sweep range. Fine tune this to your foot!
• VOLUME - This knob does what you think it would do, which is great because the Picture Wah (for example) can provide an audible boost when engaged. This helps to even out your volume at unity gain. Or, give yourself a boost!
• SWEEP - Remember those internal DIP switches? Well, they stuck around. They're on top now. These allow you to set the desired sweep within a 9 octave range. Lots of magical tone possibilities in here!
• FINE TUNE - These two trim pots work in tandem with the SWEEP DIP switches to allow you access to values more subtle tonal shades.

RMC2 Wah

The Teese RMC2 wah builds upon the original RMC1 circuit, but adds an external volume pot (instead of a built-in boost) along with a Q Harmonic control to allow you to dial in where the sweet spot sits in the pedal's sweep. Oh, and one more control. The third control is a variable sweep range control (new in the latest versions of the RMC2 since the original had a pre-notched sweep range control). This pedal is perfect for those that love the Teese wah sound but want just a little bit of control in fine tuning their wah tone.

RMC1 Wah

This was Geoffrey Teese's baby...his original masterpiece. It has gained the reputation as one of the best wah pedals ever built due to its massive sweep range, better sweet spot, firmer bass tone, more quacky mids and true bypass switching. The output volume is set to be boosted by default in order to keep your guitar present in the mix when engaged. There are a few secrets to this pedal. The little toggle switch underneath the rocker adjusts the speed of the sweep speed along with low end resonance. This is great for matching the wah tone with your particular guitar (humbuckers or single coil pickups). Sweep and resonance can be further fine tuned with an internal trimmer switch as well.

Teese Picture Wah (RMC4)

Outside of the RMC3 wah, this is probably the most popular RMC wah. Modeled after a vintage Italian Picture wah, the RMC4 is one of the most vocal wah pedals on the market. This is perfect for that class Meters funk and other vintage quacky wah tones. It really doesn't get any better than this. The pedal boasts a double-clad circuit board, superior metal can Halo inductor, and internal taper/resonance switch. This is the perfect wah for funk and vintage style rock tones. Get it.

Wizard Wah

Part Wizard Wah combines the best of the RMC 1 with the best of the Picture Wah. This wah was a wide sweep range, firm low end, a smooth mid-range, organic top end, and a bit of a boost when engaged. This wah plays much nicer with different pickup configurations and gain levels than the RMC1, however. This has become a favorite for wah enthusiasts in recent years. Definitely an important pedal of Geoffrey Teese's stable of wah wahs.
